Founded in 1986, Brown Financial Advisory in Fairhope, Ala., had grown by doing amazing work and maintaining a local focus. In recent years, the city’s population began to expand rapidly, which created more competition. The firm sought a new way to stand out.
Solution
Brown Financial Advisory tapped Out & About Communications to help define what makes it unique and distinguish it from other firms without losing its roots. We turned to a website redesign since the existing one was dated and didn’t relate to new prospects or reflect their sophistication.
Deliverables
- Discovery and Positioning: Through our discovery, data, and expertise in the financial services space, we defined what set Brown Financial Advisory apart. It was not just its location but its target market, value proposition, and philosophy around managing money.
- Website Redesign: We worked with the firm to overhaul its website. The discovery and positioning work informed a thoughtful wireframe, design, and build.
- Unique Processes: The firm had designed original processes for working with clients. We undertook a naming exercise to define this work and created interactive graphs so prospects and clients could visualize the Brown Financial Advisory difference. This process has become a cornerstone selling point for the firm.
- Videos: As we engaged in the website redesign, the firm wanted to bring its story to life via videos. We worked together to identify the stories that would be most impactful to tell via that medium, then wrote the scripts and identified a local videographer to film. We edited the videos and polished them for the final deliverable.
Results
After Brown Financial Advisory launched its beautiful new website, we started to see traffic increase. More importantly, the positioning was helping attract the right kind of client. Now, the website aligns with the firm’s energy and sales process, and it’s become a crucial part of the client journey. It’s been fun to see the growth, with the website speaking to prospects, and for other collateral pieces to spin out of the website project.
